In the Sathya Sai Education in Human Values program the all-round development of the child is emphasized. Children spend a good part of their time at school participating in activities outside the classroom. There is a wide range of possibilities for including values within these extra-curricular activities.
Sports
Students are taught good sportsmanship, teamwork and comradeship as well as the way in which winning and losing are facts of life.
Drama
Human Value Plays are performed, written and directed by the students.
Debates
Students learn to think for themselves while teachers act as mediators making sure that the results are based on good values.
Clubs
Clubs such as Art, Poetry and Drama are organized by the students to promote good values. Teachers guide and make sure that the students always strive for high ideals.
Service Activities
There are many service activities that the children can be involved with, starting at school and then branching out into society.
Field Trips
Values and lessons are taught during the field trips on which the children are taken.
Environmental Activities
Children are encouraged from a young age to appreciate nature and to help take care of it.
It is important that everything which involves the child should promote good qualities. As most children live at home, it is also essential that the parents are aware and participating in this values program so there can be continuity for the children at home.
